We are the designer and manufacturer of erogonomical transport equipment, mainly to prevent back injuries, one of the major health problems.
A delivery person very often encounters stairs on their route up which loads have to be transported. With a normal hand truck this causes much strain on the persons back which is why we have specialized on powered stairclimbers. Since 1991 we have produced the Liftkar MTK model range for loads up to 310 kg. 
Although the MTK range (made from steel) has thousands of satisfied users, we realised that there was a need for a lighter and quicker stairclimber in the route delivery sector. We started designing this new machine in 1998 and after 2 years the SAL-range was born.
For loads up to 140 kg, SAL is derived from strong aluminium and was tested for about one year by special customers with full production starting in September 2000. The SAL model range can be truly justified as the lightest and quickest powered stairclimber in the world.

We have produced the Liftkar range of products in Lichtenberg, AUSTRIA (north of LINZ at the Danube) since 1994.
Currently we have 29 people working in the factory at Lichtenberg (Stood April 2007).

Due to the increasing demand for the Liftkar products we have increased the building to double its size it was in 1999/2000 to a size today of 2,350 square meters, consisting of offices, manufacturing and storage areas.

In March 2003 the SANO UK Powered Stairclimbers Ltd., company was launched in England,and is located in Ipswich to serve all existing and new SANO Liftkar customers in England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland.
